Artwork for this track by Eleanor Grace Michaels, age 2.
Recorded at The Blanket Fort in Scottdale, GA. I refuse to front. The Blanket Fort is totes my basement.
Recorded, mixed, & mastered by Milkdud.
Just me singing and playing one bass. The bass is a Jerzy Drozd Obsession Excellency Custom IV with detuners for each string. I refer to it as "Green Bass" most of the time.
Tracks are two mics, a SM57 & a Audio Technica AT 2020, in front of Glockenklang Space Deluxe 12 cab and Glockenklang Soul amp. There's also a track of a Dean Markley contact piezo stuck by the lower half of the bridge.
The bass track (all three sources combined) was done in one take. Vocals are three takes...gotta try to stay in tune, ya know.
Bass tuning is EAEG# (F# on the detuner).
lyrics
See with Beginner's Mind,
Without all the habits brought by life.
You will know the truth.
Your way was just too cruel.
Because the pain left in blasts the roots
And spreads all around
To poison you.
(If you) take without giving back,
the world will have nothing left to give.
Where will we go
When it all grows too cold?
Habits can be hard to break
If we don't know better
But good habits can be formed again
When we grow stronger
When we grow greater
Let the roots grow deep
And spread all around
To strengthen you.
Habits can be hard to break
If we don't know better
But good habits can be formed again
When we grow stronger
When we grow greater
